New babies coming from our babies
We have a sale going on since we have an abundance of quails. Our original quails are laying eggs and as a test run decided to hatch some eggs. Out of all the eggs I put in the incubator, we are having a 90% hatch success rate. Also from our puffy but and isa brown mix, we are getting new chicks added to our family. Come take a look and pick some out. We need to make room for our new additions.

Slow growing quails
It's amazing what happened with some 100 quail eggs we ordered through ebay. Bob White quails will generally hatch after 21 days. After 23 days I was getting ready to give up and trash the whole batch. I decided to wait longer to remove them from our incubator and to my surprise after 1.5 months of waiting, the quails started hatching. Anyone that has hatched eggs understand that generally you will have about a 75% - 80% hatch rate. So far about 60% of our quails hatched

Our baby turkeys
It's amazing how quickly our turkeys have grown from coming out of the eggs to where they are now. Seems like just yesterday they hatched and with the right non gmo organic feed, they are almost as big as our adult turkey. With fear of hawks in our area, we don't let them free roam and we build huge cages to allow them to roam without fear. We are getting ready to build another runner behind our chicken runner to give them the space to frolic.

How to farm crops for each season
One thing you always need to remember when planning your crops for the season is ground preparation, quality of seeds, irrigation, and the consumer. Never grow more then what you need and always use the seeds from your harvest. When we harvest, we always keep 2 of each vegetable for seeds only. Never ever ever over water and stay organic with your fertilizer. Always remember that while you care for your farm big or small, what you produce will always taste the best and he

Navigate your way through the farmer's market
The farmers market is full of great flavors and great deals when you know where to look. They can also be overwhelming for some when trying to find what they are looking for. Most farmer markets have directories and are usually carefully laid out to make things a little easier for everybody. Make sure you stick with organic vegetables and keep a close eye on discoloration and certain stains that may be on some vegetables. Of course the most distinct will be the smell. If

A true field of dreams: one farmer's story
Hard work, love for what you do, and a passionate sight for a healthy life. This is what farming is all about. Since I was young, I worked on our family farm all summer long from morning to night. Of course I was much younger with more energy. We moved to South Carolina and discovered a new love for Organic food and a healthier life.
